I'm looking for fiction writers in the Wudaokou area to start a peer-editing workshop. In the spirit of New Year's resolutions, I've reduced my workload to make more time for my writing, and now I'd like to find a group of like-minded people to help me out. I propose a small group of 5-8 people, meeting about twice a month to discuss our writing and offer suggestions.

Participants should be respectful of each other's work and must be willing to submit their own work within the deadlines we agree upon. In my experience, deadlines can be extremely helpful to the part-time writer, and cannot be forced upon oneself.

I'm an American in my twenties. I work as an English teacher but I've been writing fiction since before college and don't ever plan on stopping. I'd be happy to work with writers of any age, amateur or professional, as long as they live in Wudaokou or are willing to make the commute for workshops.

My kitchen is on the subway line 13 (25 minutes from xizhemen or 25 minutes from dongzhemen)

The idea is to create, through regular get-togethers and complementary email discussions, a friendly and supportive forum where participants can present their original work and receive constructive and thoughtful feedback from other members. Discussion on published poets, craft, creativity, etc. will also be encouraged. Working language will be English but poetry originally written in Chinese or other languages can be reveiwed in translation.
